Common questions

What is Settlis?

Settlis offers free fair prices and paper trading for sports prediction markets. Settlis is a participant on CFTC-registered exchanges, never an exchange. Information only; not advice.

How is a fair price worked out?

A Settlis fair price is Settlis's own derived number. It starts from sportsbook quotes, takes out the sportsbook's margin, and is shown in whole cents with a label: sharp book or consensus. Settlis does not publish the quotes themselves. The Methodology page has the detail.

Are the prices live?

No. The board is one snapshot a day, as of 14:00 UTC, and it is not updated until the next day. Every page prints its own as-of time. Check the exchange for the price now.

Why does a market say “fair published at start”?

For some groups of markets, Settlis publishes its fair price only once the event starts. The full list, with those fair prices, appears in the record the next day. See Methodology.

Why is there no fair price for a market?

Settlis publishes a fair price only when it has a usable sportsbook price for both sides of that exact market. When it does not, the page says so and gives the reason. It does not guess.

Does Settlis trade these markets?

Yes. Settlis also trades these markets, and its orders may be among the prices shown. The Disclosures page explains what that means.

Can I trade through Settlis?

No. Settlis does not hold your money and does not place orders for you. If you trade, you do it yourself, in your own account at the exchange.

Is paper trading real money?

No. Paper trading uses no real money and places no orders. Paper results are hypothetical.

What does it cost?

The tools on this site are free. If you trade, the exchange charges its own fee. The Methodology page gives each exchange's formula.

How do I leave the waitlist or delete my information?

Write to support@settlis.com from the address you signed up with. The Privacy policy lists your choices.

A number looks wrong. What should I do?

Write to support@settlis.com with the page, the market and what you expected to see. Numbers can be wrong, and reports help.

Contact

Email support@settlis.com.

Settlis cannot tell you what to trade: the site is information only; not advice. For a problem with your account, an order or a payment at any exchange, contact that exchange.

Staying safe

The free tools do not ask for your exchange login, your exchange API keys or a payment. If a message asks for any of these in Settlis's name, do not answer it, and tell us at support@settlis.com.
